Amazing bugs!

I heard a quick blurb on the radio this morning, about cicadas, that blew my mind.  Apparently, cicadas are immobile larvae for 13-17 YEARS, depending on the species, and then they emerge in overwhelmingly massive numbers for one purpose - mating.  After only a few weeks they're all dead and the cycle starts all over again.  It sounds a lot like most boys when they reach 13 to 17 years old.  There's only one thing on their mind, and it must be accomplished before death no matter what!

There are, of course, many other fascinating details about these little buggers... read all about it on the all knowing Wikipedia.
